GENERAL DENTISTRY
Routine Dental Checkup

The goal of the routine dental examination is to maintain good oral health and identify and prevent problems from becoming severe, less painful to treat and, less expensive. During this exam, your dentist will check the teeth and your face, neck, and underneath your bottom, just filling line for any abnormalities (lumps, bumps or swelling). These diseases will not show any symptoms or pain in the early stages, so it's essential to visit your dentist for regular checkups.

Oral Cancer Exams

Oral cancer starts in the mouth, tongue or throat. An oral cancer screening is usually a routine part of a dental check-up. In this exam, your dentist will feel for lumps or irregular or discoloured tissues inside your mouth.

Scaling and Polishing

Scaling is a procedure where plaque and tartar are scraped and removed from the surface of your teeth. This is done using ultrasonic instruments and hand instruments. If you have stains, your teeth may need to be polished. A fluoride treatment may be given to strengthening your teeth. To reduce the risk of gum disease or to stop it from getting worse, it is recommended that you have your teeth professionally cleaned.

Root Canals

When a tooth is cracked or grossly decayed, it’s necessary to open the tooth and clean out the infected nerve tissue, which is then filled and sealed to prevent further infection. This way, it helps to save the tooth rather than extraction. Keeping your tooth prevents your other teeth from moving out of line and causing jaw problems.

COSMETIC DENTISTRY

Cosmetic procedures improve the appearance and, in some cases, the function of the teeth, which includes fillings, crowns and bridges, dentures, implants,  veneers and teeth whitening.

Fillings

Fillings are used to repair teeth that are decayed, chipped, fractured or even discoloured. It can even reduce gaps between teeth.

Crowns & Bridges

Dental crowns, often called 'caps,' are fixed prosthetic restorations used for several reasons like restoring broken teeth, protecting weak teeth, preventing cracked teeth from breaking further. A Bridge is similar to a crown. However, the main difference is that a bridge is used to help replace missing teeth. A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth. It is called a “bridge” because it covers a gap. Bridges are false teeth anchored in place by neighbouring teeth. The bridge consists of two crowns on the anchoring teeth along with the false tooth in the centre.

Teeth whitening

There are many products and techniques available for patients who want to achieve a brighter smile, and with so many options available, it can be challenging to choose the proper method for you. The best way to begin any teeth-whitening regimen is to schedule an appointment and talk to the dentist about the differences between in-office professional whitening and at-home whitening.

Implants

Dental implant surgery is a procedure that replaces tooth roots with metal, screwlike posts and replaces damaged or missing teeth with artificial teeth that look and function much like real ones.

Dentures

Dentures can go a long way towards improving your quality of life. They help you chew, talk, and swallow normally. With dentures, you can share your smile and laugh with confidence, giving a more youthful look to the face.

Veneers

Veneers are vital, thin pieces of porcelain that are bonded to the teeth. They are used to repair chipped and discoloured teeth and also help in closing gaps between teeth.

Braces

People of all ages can have braces done to correct crooked or crowded teeth. Braces aren't just a brute force solution to crooked teeth. They work by using the anatomy of the jaw to realign teeth healthily and naturally by applying gentle pressure on the teeth. Straighter teeth give not only give you a better smile and are easier to clean.

Wisdom Tooth Surgery

During a wisdom tooth extraction, your dentist makes an incision in the gum tissue to expose the tooth and bone. Removes bone that blocks access to the tooth root. Divides the tooth into sections if it's easier to remove in pieces.

Abscess and Dental Pain

Contact the emergency dentist if you have swelling and pain over-counter pain medications cannot control.

Knocked-Out Tooth

If you experience the total loss of a tooth, the first step should be to stop any bleeding. Please contact your emergency dentist to see if they can treat you immediately and bring the tooth with you.

Chipped or broken tooth

If your tooth is chipped or broken. Most of the time, they can be saved. Just be sure to call your dentist as soon as possible so they can see you right away.

Lost filling

Put a  piece of sugarless chewing gum in the spot where the filling was lost and see the dentist as soon as possible.
